Beschreibung
Background:Current NMR systems are often bulky, expensive, and require significant energy to operate, which limits their accessibility and widespread use. The PAGRAS project addresses this by developing a compact, permanent magnet-based system utilising a custom Halbach configuration. To successfully detect Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) signals within this specialised setup, a highly sensitive, custom-designed Radio Frequency (RF) probe is required.Goal:The objective is to design, construct, and validate a custom NMR RF probe tailored specifically to detect signals in our custom Halbach magnet. This encompasses the complete hardware development cycle, from RF circuit simulation to fabrication and experimental testing.Approach:The project will involve:Designing the RF coil geometry and the corresponding tuning and matching electronic circuitry.
Simulating the RF field distribution to optimise sensitivity and signal detection within the specific physical constraints of the Halbach magnet.
Fabricating the physical RF probe and integrating it seamlessly into the permanent magnet setup.
Characterising the probe's performance through experimental testing and acquiring initial NMR signals.

- You are a curious and independent Master's student in Electronics Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field. You should have practical experience in RF hardware design, circuit fabrication, and testing.
- Familiarity with finite element simulation or Python is a plus.
